We have owned an apartment in PP for 14 years and have never suffered damp, mould, or peeling paint. Yes it can be cold at night but generally the days are brighter and warmer than in the uk. We have sat on Formentor beach with cheese and wine in February with temps of 70+ degrees. There's nothing better than ramping up the heat and snuggling under a blanket when you get home after a lovely meal out. The buildings are built to keep cool though and nothing will stop your feet being cold on the tiled floors when you need to go to the loo in the middle of the night!!

it is the ground floor properties that suffer with the most damp. The higher you go the better it is.

That's it,

Rising damp only usually rises to about 1.5 metres hence 1st floor and above are better.

The white salt deposits on damp walls are because the water rising in or on the walls contains dissolved salt.

Also construction isn't the same as UK, not seen a damp course or a cavity wall in an old villa or town house.

What is like living in apartment compared to UK? What are neighbours generally like?

We lived in a few in London years ago and the noise insulation always seemed to be lacking (or we always had noisy neighbours!). We've got used to living in detached in countryside over last few years and in the long-term we'd be looking for something quiet and peaceful.

Choose the best make which is Daikin as if they are installed correctly they hardly ever go wrong and are very quiet and energy efficient.

Living in a flat is always noisier than a detached dwelling and the tiled floors male them even noisier however becaure of the port many apartments are empty for long periods.

I sat outside La Bodeguita on the 1st of January 2018 in a cloudless, warm day. It was like a perfect spring day in Glasgow.

However..........we were across for San Atonio a couple of years back and it was cold.

I suppose like everywhere climate change affects everywhere.
