Default Local council tax collections

Can anyone clarify whether the local council tax has changed from being a 2 or 3 part direct debit to the local council to a single debit from AEAT, the tax agency, and about a month earlier than usual?

Ours was taken as in the past; one payment for rates (council tax) and a second payment for garbage/rubbish. They were taken on the 21st October.

I have heard of AEAT? taking payments direct from bank accounts!! for non payment of "Non Residents"? and Wealth Tax. Maybe worth checking this has been paid for last year if due.

Thanks Gordon. Toni de la Cruz normally sorts that out so I will have to check with him.

I know Toni has been away?? We did not receive the usual email to ask us to call in and pay!!

So when we called in, in September, he had not worked out our bill so we just paid what we paid last year!!

I am a little concerned that our taxes may still not be paid this year!!

I wonder how to check?

I think there was a thread about paying the wealth/income tax online - I will delve into the murky depths of the 'search button' to have a look
