Singala hotel

Hi

Can anyone tel me if the Singala Hotel formerly owened by Globespan has been taken over .
Mny Thanks PeterP. :)

A friend has told me she emailed someone at Sis Pins who told her they didn't have any management at the moment but were hopeful this would change. I will find out who she emailed and if there is any further info available.

We've been trying to get in touch with Josep, manager at Singala since we heard the news about Globespan. However the only contact we had for him was through his singala e-mail and phone number and we have had no luck trying to get in touch with him.
Does anyone know of any way to contact him?

I've been in contact with Mr Biblioni at the SiS Pins and there's still nothing sorted out. Just got a refund today for my June 2010 booking and really keen to get back into the Sis Pins :-)

Sis Pins

We were booked in to the Sis Pins from 22 May 2010 for a week. We still have our flights booked. We are desperate to find out the new owners so that we can re-book with them. Any idea how we go aboout finding out?

Speaking today to someone who worked at Sis Pins, she said they might be opening but nothing is finally decided.

My Mum went to PP last year with a friend. It was her first time staying in the resort and she went on my recommendation. She loves the island but I was worried as she hadn't been back to the North since a holiday 7 years ago in which my Dad died suddenly. She is very fussy and hard to please and because of all these factors I was worried she wouldn't enjoy it but she loved it particularly sitting at Sis Pins watching the world go by!

I was delighted and was going to book her in for a week this year but that's all up in the air now. I hope they re-open!!!!

With the demise of Globespan, who owned them both, and now the problems the administrators have with E Clear, namely, the latter haven't got Globespan's £35m, these two hotels represent two tangible assets the administrators will wish to raise as much as possible thereon.

That said, will a sale be quick or otherwise in the current economic climate and we are talking of a couple of jewels here, specially the Sis Pins. Might a buyer be the local Pollensa hotels group or other local interests?

And how quickly , if sold, can both be got up and running and marketing themselves?

Lots of questions there then.

Perhaps the best way that we on the Forum will learn will be from some of our locally based people tapping in to the local grapevine.

Great staff at both and hopefully they will be in employment with new owners soon.

 I'm confused - I thought that Sis Pins was owned by an English couple who had owned it since the 60s. Their son was one of the owners of Little Italy.

GG :)

I strongly suspect that the HOSPA group who own many of Puerto Pollensa's prestige hotels (like the Illa Dor, Daina etc) will be making a bid for the Sis Pins.

I think Globespan bought them within the last few years

Does anyone know how to contact Hazel Jones who used to work at the Sisi Pins? I have tried but withput success

Ok this may just be a rumour but I've been told today that the Sis Pins won't be opening this summer. I'm pretty amazed but time is getting on and if they are not taking bookings now it's not looking good!

That's disappointing but not surprising, we usually stay at Sis Pins but have booked elsewhere for this summer as wanted to be sure we had accommodation.

Have now given up on re-booking the Sis Pins and have booked with the Miramar Hotel instead. Giving up on the room fridge, ice machine, free safety deposit box and great service but just can't afford to miss out on the view. Second best maybe but I'll keep an eye out on the Sis Pins and hope one day to be back :-)

The large Barrhead Travel shop in Silverburn has a staff memeber sitting near the door with a notice on the desk saying if interested in BA flights(their charters) to Palma and Barcelona, to jusk ask for info, so that looks a bit like they might be doing flight only.

But no doubt at a price!:(

Maybe we should start a new thread (glasgow/west coast/ scotland flights) on this and perhaps pollensa can trasfer/link these .... yes ?

Miraim

Hi alathays!

Having stayed twice in the Miramar in 2008, would not agree that it would take second place to the Sis Pins.

A front room with terrace or balcony in the Miramar is excellent, though the sun is gone by later in the day, second visit was in a room to rear so not so good but same I suppose as the Sis Pins.

This is off topic of course, it remains to be seen what will happen with the SP and La Singala this year, hopefully they will both be available to visitors.
