Looks a good deal unless I've been reeled in by the marketing people!
Was out week comm 24th April - seems such a long time ago - used Nationwide Flex Plus debit card to get cash from atm and credit card to pay for meals and hotel.
I've checked the statements and we never got less than 1.21 to the Pound, with no extra fees or commission. You must pay in Euros at the point of sale.
With the other perks on the Flex Plus account like interest on balances, cash back on the credit card, Britannia Rescue and travel insurance etc I'm happy to pay the £10 per month to run the account.

we always take a small amount of cash usually changed at a money shop type place rather than a uk bank

always use our Clydesdale bank debit card for meals and atm withdrawals never had less than 1.15 average over the piece and very happy with that

only problem was one year local atms would not take our card for withdrawals for 2 days, was fine eating out using card but was strange having no cash on hip so to say

Yes - the intimation from the Bank of England that interest rates may rise soon than thought is having a positive effect on the rate

Well we've been riding high for the last month which has been good news for everyone. The interbank rate monthly high reached 1.2689 but unfortunately it has taken a nose dive this week and is now back down to 1.2468 let's hope it doesn't go much lower. It has been refreshing to see it gradually climbing.
