Belladonna,

am afraid you have lost the link now you have a nice strap line! When you edit your signature highlight the text & then click on the icon to 'insert link' & type in the web address.

& talking of the G Street, try searching on 'wigglethump' - it shows how quickly the forum gets picked up by G.

I also think perhaps when members give information instead of saying 'as found on this site' or you will find on the left' - which I am very guilty of doing - we should actually place the link ourselves. I know many members already do this but many don't. I also think that when asked for information regarding accommodation unless a specific block is mentioned, answers should be directed to the rental section (or link given!) of this site.
People pay a lot of money to advertise on this site and I feel it is unfair that the forum sometimes points people to property not advertised here. I also think it will cut down on the repetitive questions and get people used to looking on the main page.

Just clicked on the google links a few times

I love to look at the main site, especially restaurant menus, many are right upto date. Stay for example post the set menu on their website, accessed via pp.com of course and you can see if you fancy it. Lllonja do to. I know i'm sad..........but if it is for the good of the forum then.......

If you want to have a smart snappy link, try these instructions.

Go to your profile and click on User CP, under YOUR CONTROL PANEL click edit signature.
You should get a box like a normal posting box, then you need to insert a hyperlink, don’t panic that just text that when you click on it takes you to a web page, so for example type in Property Services, highlight it how ever you do, (left click and drag I beam over word), then click on the symbol above the box that looks like a world with a chain link, then paste in the place you want to go to , ie the web address of the property services page, use this Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca (Majorca) - Property Services, should look like this
Property services
then click save signature and it should work.

Just checked this out with my brother who owns various websites and is very into 'it' - whatever 'it' might be lol.
ANYWAY - he said there is a need to be very careful as he had real trouble with one of his sites as if there are too many clicks then it can be argued that is not real and that it is illegal. They then took ALL (don't know who they are!) his ads off and he had great trouble re-instating. Sorry this is vague - foreign language to me and i've probably misunderstood.

The thing is we are only linking to the lists of ads, if someone then wants to visit them, then its down to them really, we are not linking to the ads directly

"Click fraud" Pollensa!! Oh no, what have I started! A little knowledge is a dangerous thing so they say.

If you think this is the wrong thing to do, just let us know and we will delete all sponsor signatures.

Perhaps it would be better to just post a link each time someone asks for info of some sort. If we also advise that the info is on the main site and this is the link surely people will soon get the idea of looking at the main site before posting questions? On looking through many posts it is surprising how many questions are repeated. I think to put the link each time will do more good actually and make people think about the info that is on offer generally.

How fab it is to see the ideas raised in this thread being used already in other posts!
When a question is raised, instead of feeling a bit told off and being asked to search or look on the left, we are having a nice informative conversation with helpfull links and we feel welcome to the forum . As previously said, once the link goes to to the main site, i'm sure people will have a look around. Also with this warm welcome, i am sure people will feel more comfortable with posting reports on return from hols, which i just love to read!!
I also like to feel that i am able to contribute to the forum and the site by adding a few simple helpfull links.
I feel that this post has also raised my awareness of the adverts on the site more, and as a regular visitor who has just booked a holiday (through the site) i am finding them very usefull, and i must admit to previously not really giving them my full attention.

Thankyou to all who contribute

Its good to know that the knocking around of ideas actually did some good. Every now and then that "lighbulb moment" produces energy!
