Default Mosquitoes in October?

Hello,

I'm coming out to PP in mid-October (14th), and wondered what the mosquito situation will be like then?

Thanks,

Greta

Not sure if the mosquitoes have been more prevalent this year or I've become tastier!
The bites also seem different to other mosquito bites I've had. They are almost like blisters and itch sooooooo much I thought I was going to be driven mad the other night. Antihistamine, hydrocortisone cream, After Bite, Vicks Vapour Rub (which usually works a treat) and vinegar have been applied at various times....and one night all them put together

As I write I've got a very itchy one on my leg which I'm trying to ignore GRRRR

Maybe the very hot summer this year has increased the numbers?

We think the mosquitoes are smaller this year and silent! Also immune to being killed by usual sprays. Nothing works this year I agree!

Just spent a few days in the Amazon jungle. I now know what Mossies are really like. Two layers of clothing (in very humid conditions) and they still bit through. Think I now permanently smell of deet.

I certainly won't have to give blood for a few months - the mossies have taken it all.

Thanks, Carol and Bircho - it sounds as if the mozzies have developed superpowers...

Best,

Greta

In the 41 years we have been coming to PP I had never been bitten until this year , the mozzies have now decided they love me back out on Saturday for two weeks hopefully they have gone off me again!

The answer is that the Tiger Mosquito has now spread north into Spain and has reached Mallorca. Look it up on line here -

I know someone who had the same thing happen, they blamed it on developing Type 2 Diabetes changing the way they smell to the little B's!!

We bring Anthisan Bite cream, its good if you get them treated soon enough.
