Default Winter flights!

Hi all,
I'm sure this topic has been covered in the past - but we haven't been to PP out of season for about 4years. However, now that my parents are staying in PP thought the winter from November onwards, winter flights are my main concern!
Ryanair were offering twice weekly flights from East mids (Nov onwards) that they have now withdrawn!
Our nearest airport is Birmingham... Does this mean we have the choice of just Liverpool or London for the next 5 months?
I'd just appreciate some info from regular out of season travellers to PP!
There used to be so many flights, I can't believe how much it's changed, and it must affect the economy in PP too. What a shame.
Thanks in advance.

We had booked flights from Glasgow for February with Easyjet and just discovered a few weeks ago that they have withdrawn their flights too. We have no other option as really don't fancy a drive to Manchester/Birmingham etc in February especially when we had booked for just 3 nights. Looks like no-one wants to travel in winter

There are no flights from Manchester or Birmingham in February, even you wanted them!
It seems madness doesn't it?

Liverpool is OK apart from the early winter flight times and not usually any to Palma on Saturdays in the winter.

sleep the night before at the on site hotel or the premier inn that is not far away as it makes for a less stressful start to the holiday and does not cost too much.

Not much winter choice any more and as all inclusive increases each year it will only get worse in the winter.

Could fly to PMI and back from Glasgow/Edinburgh in the time it would take us to drive to Bristol.......if there were any flights of course A bit wary about having a long drive in case weather conditions were bad.....especially in February Looks like our February break is no longer on

Looks as if Monarch are flying from Manchester in February. Prices are not the greatest though especially as it's out of season. Not great prices from Liverpool either

Default Trying new route

Hi all.

Agree, it's madness not to fly in winter. We have tried flying from Glasgow and Liverpool in the past but it means an overnight stay at an airport hotel because of the early flight time. This next winter trip of ours we have booked to fly from Newcastle where we live to Gatwick then easyjet to Palma. Not cheap but at least you get there on the same day.

Will let you know how we get on with that route.

I would travel to Bristol though if it was cheap enough....but not in February, and not if we were only going for a few days. If the deal's there then it's there to be taken Gone from Birmingham on a package a number of years ago and it was cheaper for 3 of us to fly to Birmingham and back than it would have been to go from Glasgow or Edinburgh

Would certainly consider doing that if the price was right

Anyone tried local airport to Barcelona then short hop Barcelona to Palma during winter.
A friend came back Palma to Barcelona, Barcelona to UK a couple of years ago.
(But two trips with associated waiting, etc.)

We stayed at the hotel at Gatwick in the summer, I think we paid around £40 for two, very nice hotel and literally 2 mins to the North terminal, worth considering!
