Formentor Public Bus

Hi all

First timer coming to Puerto Pollensa for a week from Easter Saturday.

I have tried to find the answer to this question on the web but failed miserably.

We will not be hiring a car and hope to visit Formentor. The public bus will be running again from 1 April.

Does anyone know if the public bus will drop people off/pick people up at Mirador de la Creueta overlooking Colomer - the viewpoint where all the paths/walls are and many of the photos are from. There is no obvious bus stop on the map between Puerto Pollensa and the beach stop at the end of the line and the Mirador looks roughly half way. It would be nice to have a walk around that area and up to the watchtower and then get the next bus on to the beach or back to the port, whichever fits with the timetables.

Otherwise it looks like a very tiring walk up from town ... is it feasible?

Also, does anyone know if the boats will be running to Formentor beach then?

Thanks for any replies

Abi

Am afraid I don't know if the bus does stop at the viewpoint but it will be running in April. I still need to update the times on our page puertopollensa.com/transport-taxis-bus-trains.html#busformentor but if you go there you'll see a link to download the latest timetable & it is running 4 times a day Mon-Sat.

Am not sure about the boats - does anyone know?

We did get off the bus at that location but had to quickly take a few photos before catching the same bus on it's return journey to the port, some 10 minutes later. There were not many buses then, in 2010. Maybe there are more nowadays. Check the latest timetables.

Many thanks for that. At least it should be possible then. Did you especially have to ask the driver to let you off at the Mirador or would the bus have stopped there anyway? Can you remember if anyone else got off/on at the same place? Sorry for so many questions!! How do you ask the driver if he will stop there in Spanish/Mallorquin? Or is it better to stick to English!

There are 4 buses a day on Route 353 in each direction from 1 April. So I was thinking of getting the 10.00 from PP, getting off at the Mirador and maybe walking up towards the watchtower, then catching the 11.30 from PP on to the beach to spend the afternoon there, or alternatively if we miss that one, catch that bus on its return from Formentor which should be some time after 12.00 noon.

Any more advice would be much appreciated.
