Hi,

I have just booked my first visit to puerto pollensa for the end of September. My Husband loves the idea of going to visit a vineyard, and I see from this site that we could go to see can vidalet, and was wondering if anyone here could tell me if it is worth a visit?

If it is, is there any way to reach the vineyard using public transport, we are considering the possibility of hiring a car but are still undecided, so it would be good to know what our options are!

Thanks in advance
SS

We visited Can Vidalet when it was quite a young, newly opened vinyard a few years back. It has now improved its grounds to offer wine tasting and majorcan snacks - but not in a cafe type of way, you do need to book for some of them. Cant help with transport I'm afraid, we always have a car. Lovely views from the grounds too.

Take a look at their website link;

Hello summer - c'an vidalet is lovely little vineyard which is well worth a visit. It is owned by a wealthy German whose house sits somewhere behind the vineyard. The place is run by a charming German girl called Anja who used to be the owners housekeeper. The winemaker is probably the youngest I have ever met - he looks like he should still be doing A levels!!

They recently did very well in the International Wine Challenge, winning two bronze medals from memory.

You are probably best to book a tour - check out their website for info - and if you do not have transport a taxi is probably a good idea - probably a good idea anyway!

Have fun!:)

We went in April - hadn't actually booked a tour but Anja was really helpful - she let us try quite a few wines (naturally we ended up buying!) It is the most beautiful place - going to work there every day would be an absolute pleasure! It is also full of fossils just lying around on the ground - our kids found some without even looking. Well worth a visit.
