Not feeling up to what sounds like a hairy drive to Alaro, we opted for an easier drive up Puig d'Inca, which I didnt realise even existed.
WOW, what a view! Drove right up to Santa Magdelana church and spent ages just looking out over - everwhere! I truely think this must be one of the best views so easily reached.
The restaurant is stepped and uses the views to its best advantage, but we werent too sure how to go about asking for sunday lunch there, so just contented ourselves with a coffee and orange juice on the terrace. I really wish I had felt a little more confident and used the restaurant. It appeared very much a local haunt, and there had obviously been a wedding held at the church the day before as there was rice and rose petals still drifting around.
Lovely, easy drive with good parking - try it.8)

Santa Magdalena

Best to book if you are going on Sunday. Tel: 971 50-18-72.

Great views down the motorway and beyond.
Belladona is right. Lots of locals use it. Worth a visit. Really good Mallorcan food.

Cheers!

Re: Santa Magdalena

Sounds like a good place to visit. Can you give directions?

Santa Magdalena

Motorway towards Inca from Puerto Pollensa.
Approaching Inca look to your left. High hill is where you are going!
Take first Inca exit. Go left over motorway. Santa Magdalena is sign-posted from here.

Re: Santa Magdalena

If it is the same place I am thinking of, we went there a few years ago and had lunch. There was a very sweet dog running around, who was really friendly. Unlike the Cujo type beast that you passed on the way to the loo!!

Really nice place!

Hi Bella

We spent two years looking for this restaurant after a friend had seen it promoted on a travel programme in the UK. I lost count of the number of churches there are on small hillls across central mallorca !!!!

We eventually found it two years ago right on our doorstep although it has been more difficult to get to whilst they were bulding the motorway.

We normally visit during the week and have never ever found the restaurant busy although its much better signposted now so maybe things have changed.
