At last we have the full program for the fiesta in Pollenca town (thank you to the Tourist Office for the translation into English). It starts on Wednesday 26th July & culminating on Wednesday 2nd August with the famous Moors & Christians battle. More details here www.puertopollensa.com/events.html#JulAug & do report back if you are lucky enough to go.

What a superb set of photographs. They make one feel that one is in the thick of it. Thanks Pollensa.

Belladonna, it is the church in the square in the old town. A service is held there after the mock battle and before the fireworks. this is a good link.

Hi

We were lucky enough to be in Pollensa on Wednesday 2nd August and saw the festival. It was amazing. There were hundreds of people everywhere. It was an incredible experience. All the women were dressed in antique white nightdresses and the men looked fabulous in their battle outfits. My children thought it was amazing.

Later on, we were lucky enough to get a table at the restaurant (can't remember it's name!) just at the bottom edge of the square and we sat and watched as the evening started to calm down.

We stayed out until around 11pm and then went back to our villa. We watched the most fabulous firework display from our garden. It was incredible! A night to remember for a long time.

I'm writing a short story about the Moors and Christians Festival and wondered if anyone could help with a description of the church ceremony after the mock battle?

I've had a look at the wonderful photos on this section but if anyone was there and couuld describe the ceremony I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

Jane

The dates for this fiesta in Pollensa town is the same every year (Aug 2nd) so you will be there. The one in Puerto Pollensa is 'around' 16th July but we never know the exact dates until nearer the time.

Also Jane to you inteng to post your story of the Fiesta here, I think it would be very useful to people.
