Just use copious amounts of alcohol, much more effective!

Cool

Well I've taken your advice and had a G&T, shared a couple of bottles of chilled Rosado with my father & finished the evening with a Dry Martini with a lemon twist at Cappuccino but the noise from the square in the distance is still quite overpowering!

Wink Noise

Suggested course of action:-

Try the above procedure every night for a week, but leave out the lemon twist!!!! I think you might find that that will do the trick. Although there may be side effects - sore head in morning, etc!!

How often do this happen?
Is it just an annual event?
I was always under the impression that PP effectively closed at midnight. This went on until 5am.
Pity the poor souls in the square/with small children.

It's a festival so reasonably often as the Spanish love them.
PP does not close at midnight.

As for the young children, a lot of them enjoy the festivities and no-one is forced to be in the square.

I think there are usually 3 all night parties in the square annually, they start at 11pm and finish at 5am.

PP has never closed at midnight but outside music must stop (except if it's an official party like last night ) and all terraces must be cleared by 2am.

Cool

Well one week on since the Summer Carnival in the square and last night somebody in the Port held an all night dance music rave [boom, boom, boom with hints of psychedelica] from midnight until 6am. I feel very sorry for anyone staying on top of it. Astonished the local police or Guardia Civil didn't intervene and close it down.

No. Otherwise I'd be complaining more often! Much more in the open. I think it was probably a mountainside villa along the by-pass towards Formentor holding a very inconsiderate party!
