Default Fuel Price

Hi all, heading to PP in July and have rented a car through Centauro. They have this ridiculous policy (i think they nearly all have now) of giving you the car full of juice BUT you now have to return it empty, what a swiz!! Obviously I will be charged for the full tank, but by how much of a rip off will it be I wonder?? My question is how much is a litre of petrol in Majorca now. This will give me a base price to work off i.e, if I get a fiesta, well then that can hold say 60 ltrs, so multiply that by the price of a litre should give me the average price I should be charged.
Thanks as always
Matt

Maybe hire cars should be fitted with smaller 20 litre fuel tanks

That would costs the tourists less at the airport and would be environmentally friendly as people would not be driving around the island just to use up fuel that they did not want pay for anyway ...

20 Litre tanks - that's 4.4 'gallons'. Not going to get you far! Not going to happen!
And, what about selling the car afterwards - virtually all hire cars go to the public later -
they ain't going to change the fuel tanks to something larger are they.
Good 'out of the box' thinking though. In a perfect world it's not too bad an idea.
Full / Full still the best way to go in my opinion. I'm sure some still do it.

Just booked flight + PP accom + car hire for July through Travel Republic. Usually we DIY on all our bookings and assemble the component parts ourselves. However the complete deal through TR was cheaper - and the car hire is on a full-to-full basis.

I have made a booking through holiday autos, that placed me with a company who had the full to empty policy. I rang them and said that I was not happy with this arrangement and they changed the booking at no cost to a company that offers full to full. Worth asking..
