Hi,

Has anyone got the public bus from the airport to puerto pollensa before? As I understand you have to go to change at the main bus station in palma, just wondering if its a right misssion and takes ages or if its ok and easy enough?

I tried to get a bus from magaluf to the airport once and ended up in a bus station which apparantly wasnt the main one, after asking around the main one was supposed to be near by but I couldnt find it and gave up and got a taxi in the end.

I would appriciate if anyone has any info/tips, thx

Hi Ninja

We took the bus earlier this year, just to try it and we found it really easy.

The bus from the airport is a No 1 and waits just at the end of the travelator as you come out of the airport, they are every 15 mins and the fare was 3.20€ for 2 (if I remember correctly). Once on the bus there is a screen that tells you as you approach each stop, take the bus to the stop called Placa Espania (this is the main square in Palma where all the bus and train stations are). You then need the bus station which is only a 5 minute walk through the park, where you get the Transunion bus directly to PP (if you're not sure which way to go there is a tourist information office as you get off the airport bus). The buses are every hour and the fare is approx 10€ for 2.

We arrived on a Sunday in April and had to wait 1/2 hour in Palma bus station for the PP bus, but there was a nice little bar on the street, where you can get a drink.

It was a good experience and much easier than I had anticipated.

note: The Transunion buses also have a luggage compartment for suitcases etc.

Hope this info is useful.

Many thanks, Im going to give it go!

Hi ninja,

I always take the public bus now - it's so easy and CHEAP. I plan my flight arrival/departure times around the bus timetable! Just be aware that the walk from Placa Espana to the bus stop can be tough in the heat if you have a lot of luggage. Wear comfy shoes!
