Can anyone please tell me how much it costs to hire a sunbed and shade on the beach at Puerto Pollensa? I am out of touch with this as we have previously stayed at hotels with free sunbeds. Thank you

Many thanks for that info, I had an idea it could come to money for a family of 4 for a week! At least now we know and are prepared.

Last year after 3 o'clock it was 6 euros

There were also 3 day offers and possibly 6 day as well but i think we had to stay in the same are of the beach each day

I'm presuming there are beds and shades on the beach along near the Pollensa Park Hotel?? We stay near Pine Walk but my daughter, husband and children are along at the other end in an apartment and shade will be very important to them.. Thank you

Yes and there is also a beach bar at that end, we are just hoping that the contract for the beds and brollies gets sorted out earlier this year .
When are you planning to be here Anna?.

Any news of the loungers this year? We always spend our first week end of April/start of May and last year was the first time we rented an apartment with no access to an area with loungers, which turned out a bit of a problem (resolved with a stroke of luck unlikely to be repeated this year). We haven't booked our accommodation yet, but are presuming the public loungers are unlikely to be out any time soon?

Hello and welcome to the forum Fifer, yes the beds and brollies are already being put out but i don't know how much they are charging yet, i would think it will be about the same as last year so around 11€ for 2 beds + brolly :).

Thanks for the welcome (I'm a long term lurker - we've been visiting PP two or three times a year for 12 or more years). Good news about the loungers - that gives us more flexibility with choice of apartments.

It's about time they started charging less after 3 pm, I begrudge paying for a full Day when you only want to relax for a couple of hours after being out for the Day

I believe they did last year :).

P.S. Yes it was 6€ after 3pm.

I thought it had been less after three for at least a couple of years now?

The beds are piled on the South Sandy Beach ready for putting under the brollies.

I was wondering how much the sunbeds in P.P were this year, as I've noticed on the webcam that a lot of the beds look like they're not being used, and more people on the sand sunbathing.
Maybe they should be cheaper to hire and more people would use them.

I am recently back home from PP and the sunbeds were 13 euro per day. Last time I was there, year before last, I think they were 10 euro. I went to the beach on my first day late on about 4.30pm, took a sunbed, and was asked for 13 euro, which I questioned by pointing at my watch - it was late in the day; he then let me pay 6 Euro.

Next day, to avoid 13 euro per day I bought a lilo (which was false economy as I only used it the once!), but I wasn't going to pay 13 Euro a day to sit on the beach - if you're on a ten day holiday that's another 130 euro if you are at the beach every day.

Yes, I too noticed many more people this year had not taken the beds - no wonder.

I think the 13 euros for 2 beds and an umbrella is it not.

gmp
yes, that's right, to be fair, it is, so maybe not such a bad deal for a whole day's use. Many people don't stay on the beach all day though; I'm supposing, as I think I have been a second user of a bed on the beach a number of times, that they charge the full price again everytime someone leaves for the day and the beds are freed up for another user. However, I went to the beach myself (on my own that particular afternoon to get a couple hours in the late sun), so basically I wanted only one bed and the shade of the umbrella from about 4.30pm (and that's an early estimate) and he wanted to charge me 13 Euro. So, in paying him 6 euro, basically I paid full price for a whole day's use of one bed and umbrella.

In July we were paying 12euros for 2 beds and a shade..after 3:30 it was 6 euros 50...(this was at La Gola beach) it had been 11erous for a number of years . They now issue receipts which show the bed numbers you have paid but noticed they are no longer doing 3 day or weekly concessions...

The locals all wait until about 5pm when they have stopped coming round and then make straight for the vacated beds ;)
