Yes the shortcomings of Google translate i am afraid Lollipop but i thought the last sentence was quite encouraging ie:- "improved to increase contract period from date of award until 30th November 2012 extended for 3 more seasons". It looks the annual farce won't be repeated next, hopefully .

Wasn't sure if that was just talking about extending the season for the boats on the moorings. Only time will tell Sparky, and we just have to accept this laid back culture lol.

From the earlier posts I take it the umbrellas and sun beds won't be there when my in-laws come out tomorrow. Has any contract been awarded yet?

Thanks lollipop. They just have to buy a couple of sun chairs/bed for the week. Not ideal, but they got a free week last year thanks to the forum info.

No beds as yet, but the toilet block buildings have arrived on the beach late this afternoon.

Well at last the contract has been awarded and it has gone back to the "Residents Association" who had it in 2010 . The full story is here :- Los vecinos explotarán las playas del Moll y de Cala Sant Vicenç este verano » Part Forana » Noticias » Ultima Hora Mallorca .

We had tourists in last night who told us they are getting the bus to Alcudia every day and going on the beach there. I assume the town hall will be happy for me to deduct 2 months (April & May)from the cost of my terrace licence

In-laws were happy enough last week to buy their beach chairs (as they will be out again in Sept and are lucky that they can store them in apt until then), but I can see that it's not great for people that aren't so lucky and rely on the provision of the services.

Also, it's not the best PR, when people return from their holidays and tell their friends that PP was great, but without the sunbeds the beach wasn't that much fun.

The tourists travelling to Alcudia might book there next year.

Let's hope that the new 3-year contract will solve this annual comedy.

I agree with all comments. The situation is farcical.
How crazy that people staying in PP are going to Alcudia for beach facilities.

PATHETIC.

I came back from Alcudia yesterday late afternoon and was following an artic truck which was full of sunbeds, it stopped in the Hotel Uyal area, whether they were for the beach or the Hotels I do not know.
