Just got back from 8 days in PP and the sun loungers are out but did not appear to be attended after my first couple of days ??? So they are left all higgledy-piggledy (if there is such a word?!).

The bins on the beach were also not emptied, leaving rubbish piling up, and the beach shower and wooden walkway near Barnard Hamilton's are not in situ so things are looking decidedly dishevelled. Needs sorting out ASAP.

I've also notiched that many of the attractive street lights on the prom are broken and looking shabby. The area needs tidying before it starts to look too tired.

Mind you, I still had the most fantastic time as usual........

Just a quickie regarding sunbeds.....we always put ours back as we found them...really nice and tidy. It only takes a minute and makes everywhere look so much nicer. Is it just me !

My major gripe...I must have one.....cigarette smokers......cigarette ends left on the beach .....just absolutely disgusting.

We can all play a part in keeping everywhere nice and tidy.

Absolutely right Susie and that goes for chocolate bar, crisp, sandwich and chewing gum etc eaters as well as coke, sprite, sangria, beer and water etc drinkers.

Well Smiddy it isn't such a chore to take your rubbish home with you is it?.
I can remember signs on Dartmoor and on beaches in Devon and Cornwall that actually said " Please take your rubbish home with you". Once again that word "respect" is needed, respect your surroundings.....you know it makes sense .

Unhappy

Here in N.Ireland following the recent good spell the rubbish left behind was unbelievable as was the cost of clearing it up. All the bins were full but instead of taking the rubbish home people just left it all over the place. The planned protest will have little effect on the state of the beach if people continue to abuse it with no thought for the residents and fellow vsitors.

Would have no problem with that, Sparky. Come to think of it i don't take rubbish on to the beach, always give it, and my fellow bathers respect, unlike others around me i don't treat it like a giant ash-tray or open-air dustbin

Its not just the tourists leaving rubbish on beaches etc. The Mallorcan press regularly publish jokes on the theme 'how does a mallorcan clean his car? He empties the ashtrays in the streets. Ive lost count of how many times I see locals opening cigarette packets or sweet packets and chucking them nonchalently ont he pavement
