the beach

i am interested in the history of pp can anyone remember the beach being put down when it happened how long where the sand came from how it was delivered and what differnce it made

Hi Peter,

If I remember correctly the beach was extended from Tamarels to Llenaire around the early to mid 80's and the sand had to be imported.
I can't really remember much more about it, it will be interesting to hear from others about this.

When we went to PP the first time, in 1982, there was only a small beach around Tamarells beach bar. We were told the first stage up towards the port, sand was dredged up and blown out of the bay. After that, sand was imported on barges and the beach was gradually extended over a few years.
