Group of people cleaning beach!

Last few days there have been a alrge group of people cleaning the beach that runs from PP to Alcudia. In yellow vests, picking up rubish. Any idea why this is? Of course its to clean the beach, but why now?

Beach Cleaning

They are certainly not from the local council.

The lorry they have with them says that they are from a Foundation.
(I couldn't see any more, as I was driving!)

I know nothing more, but judging from the number of plastic bags full of rubbish, they are doing a great job!

So, we have a charity cleaning-up the beach!
It's interesting that they are cleaning-up the areas where they are trying to conserve the flora and fauna, so they may be a conservation group.

So they are obviously part of a charity organisation or something.

What confuses me is why they are doing this in the middle of July?

The beach is dirty, but 90% of the rubbish is natural debri and seaweed!

Still tho, that beach could have great potential if it was maybe extended abit...

Then again you have the main road there, and it always smells.

Cleaning Beaches

The people are from an organzation called Amadip Esment.
This is an organization supported by the Balearic Government, amongst others. It supports people with "pychic difficulties" and tries to give them employment opportunities.

They are still working today, and collecting large ammounts of stuff that has been washed-up or thrown from cars.

Frito, what a good idea, a benefit to the people and to the port. It is probably the seaweed that is causing the smell.
