When was away last week was looking at the price of sunloungers and how expensive they now are.

I used to hire a single with no shade for 3.50 euro a day but they do not do them as singles (although still advertised on the board - where have they gone??) so now have to pay 7 euro for one under shade or 10 euro for a double with shade.

Feel this is a bit expensive for people who love nothing better than sitting on a beach for their full 2 weeks it would be 140 euros !!!

We've given up hiring sun loungers. As if the price wasn't bad enough, we've also had bad experiences with broken, filthy beds and rude staff.

We just buy comfy lylos now from the local shops [10-20 euros each depending on size, shape, cartoon character (optional) etc] as a cheaper and more versatile alternative - you can even cool off in the water with them too.

Then we just give them away at the end of our last day to new arrivals. Only drawback is lack of shade but it doesn't bother us.

The rush beach mat things which cost practically nothing are good for keeping the sand under control, and parasols don't cost much (and in fact there were two in the apartment). Just have to be very careful if the breeze springs up, there was an extremely nasty incident on the south of France a few years ago I remember when one took off and speared someone.
