Helados

One thing missing from our recent visit to PP was the ice cream vendor who used to ride his trike along Pine walk calling 'Helados' at about 11.00, anyone know why he (or anyone else) is no longer providing the much apreciated service ?

I believe he is still about P.P.
We have been going to P.P. since 1969 and he wasn't young then.
Maybe there could be a part-time job here for you.

Is EU Health & Safety laws stoping this enjoyable treat.

Would probable need a water tanker following him and a road sweeper behind that, and pressure gague to check his tyres.

The lovely old boy on the motorcycle owns the ice cream business!! (It's his little hut by the roundabout) Not sure whether he had just had enough or maybe Snowy's right and there is some reason he's been forced to stop.He's sorely missed by our family, such a friendly face, and you could set your clock by him..every day at 11 and 3

You can often still see him in the hut serving, and I think he's done very well for himself over the years..check out the Rolex!!

Debz its his son-in law who works in the hut now sure thats who he is.

I last saw the old man in 2004 did not spot him last year once.

My Kids would also dearly miss him.

Re Helados

He has retired and I think was not around on his cycle last summer. He owns the kiosk by the roundabout, I believe, and I see him around from time to time. He has lost weight, which is a good thing!!

I spoke to him the summer beforelast and he told me that he was retirning after 60 years riding the bike

He certainly was everyone's favourite

I was pleased to see him in "the hut" last October and am delighted to learn he is still doing fine

Certainly a real PP character ............ I bet he is dearly remembered by many many people

I seem to remember reading somewhere on this site that he was retiring due to arthritis and that the council wouln't grant the licence to anyone else. Only managed a couple of ices from the hut this year due to eating too much at dinner.
