Default Afternoon tea and cake!!

My parents are thinking of coming out with me and my daughters in 2 weeks time. They have been going to Cornwall for the last 30 years, so this would be a big change. They like to go out and have a cuppa tea and nice pce of cake, any ideas where they could do this in the port??? Many thanks

Emmalou many places will serve tea and cake in the afternoon. Cafe Algar, Nostalgia and Mollies to name a few.

Cafe Algar right on the corner of the main square would be a great venue. Your children could then play nearby.

They have great cakes in there and it's clean and smart.

As has been said, most restaurants do tea/coffee and cake in the afternoon. For a real treat they could take tea at the Illa Dor,with sandwiches ,cakes and scones.

Thanks for all the replies, will make a note of them. I think I also remember reading that you could have tea and cake at Bellavista, which I think they would love. Have just booked their flights so no backing out now!!! Last time they were in pp was in 1974, and have not been abroad since 1981 so I'm really excited they have decided to try something new. 11 days to go

The afternoon tea at the Illa D'Or is amazing ..... however it is much too much for 2 people ( unless you have that at 3pm and then don't eat until breakfast )

It is also a bit difficult ordering for 2 when there are 4 of you at the table - they always seem to think you are asking for 4

So a tip - 2 of you sit down and order afternoon tea for 2 and then once it arrives .... the other 2 join you and just order a tea and or coffee each

That way you get sufficient for a "tea" for 4 at a very reasonable price

Oops! We had 4 of us and ordered for 4 and ate everything except the chocolate cakes, which were only left because they had started to melt!
Maybe the champers helped to wash things down and make more room - or we could all just be very hungry piggies!
