Default Restaurant IRU

Hi

Have walked passed this restaurant many times but never tried it. I am tempted to visit next week when we are going to be back in the Port
Has anyone eaten there lately ? We would be grateful for any comments.

Thanks

Charlotte

It is lovely, a little pricey, but worth it. Best to sit at the back rather than near the walkway though.

My Fiancee and I know the owner Carlos, a very nice man. We got engaged on the Pine Walk a couple of years ago and celebrated with an IRU Fillet Steak and a bottle of bubbly, it was out of this world. As Belladonna says its pricey, but the food is amazing.

These days, like several places in PP, he does do a set 3 course menu for a very reasonable price, but have yet to try this.

The set meal is excellent and is changed weekly. the Staff are very welcoming and very professional. I had walked past it for years but was advised to try it by a fellow guest in the Sis Pins. I am so glad I did.

We tried both of their set menus a couple of weeks ago and they are very good. When we went the first time we asked for the Set Menu & were handed two. As well as a standard one for about 16 EUR, they do a 'Mallorcan' one for 20 EUR. It is a really good way to sample Mallorcan dishes cooked very well & perhaps slightly differently. This Menu is 4 courses with no choice plus a glass of wine. The courses were Frito Marinero (seafood), Tumbet, Lomo Con Col stuffed with sobrasada and butifarra and a desert - I think it was a sort of apricot flan. So we went with that Menu our first visit.

A couple of days later we went back and had their standard Menu - we both chose Risotto, Hake with green sauce and I think the desert was a pineapple mousse. This also comes with bread and a glass of wine.

Out of all our meals that week, our meals at IRU were the most enjoyable. We had been put off in the past as it looked very expensive but trying their menus is is an excellent introduction. My son also tells me that their Paella is very good!
