Sounds great Sparky, and very reasonable, the smaller sizes some good as well, I am determined to go more 'local' this time and will be eating much later and having a few drinks and tapas first, will definitely try here, can you still sit at the bar and eat do you know?

Its great to sit at the bar with the locals, especially if you know a bit of the lingo, isn't it Sws? Its the traditional spanish way to enjoy Tapas, usually after work with a drink or 2!!

It is Cheryl and the locals always used to be in the old Neptuno, I wonder if they will return to this new one?

Certainly looked like locals sitting inside this morning as I passed.

Of course not Car77, we had bread, olives and alioli, medium plates of Russian salad, pork in mushroom sauce, chicken croquettes, baby squids and a couple of glasses of vino and the bill was €22.
Thanks Sparky. The food does sound good - just the sort of things I like. I often find I prefer a few different tapas dishes for my main evening meal, shared with Hubby and the kids as I love all the different tastes. This suits me better than one large meal.
I shall hopefully try it next week when we are out.

Could not agree more car77, there are times especially when it is "hace calor" that we just can't face a meal and a few plates of tapas are enough.

Where IS the new Neptuno please, the location doesn't appear to have been mentioned during this topic, I presume it's not where the old one was. I'm sure there was recently some talk on the Forum of this being refurbished as a restaurant, is this correct, because earlier posts suggested it may be converted to yet more residential accommodation. (I may have got this last bit wrong, but don't think so).

Thanks very much for any comments, the thought of Pollensa not having an establishment such as Neptuno doesn't bare thinking about, (just don't start me off on the demise of the old Coach House, another great local place still sorely missed)

Unhappy

I tried this for the first time last week and yes the food was very good but, oh dear the heart and soul of the old place has gone i'm afraid. The days where you could crash out in one of the wicker chairs and spend a long lazy evening are no more. Clinical is one word for it. The feeling now seems to be sit down, eat and go. Of course the fact that the whole of that side is the same owner does not help matters. Obviously anyone who did not know the old place may think it's ok but for my part i won't be rushing back.

A friend of mine ate there one night recently, ordered from Menu of Day but was then charged differently. When questioned the answer was they had the big chops!!!. After standing her ground re what she ordered they did reduce it but unfortunately it put her off even thoughthe food was good.
