Think its something like Daniels Place or Casa del Daniel, something like that! Not tried it yet - waiting for another guinea pig!

Has anyone tried C'an Daniel?...If so how was it?

...I assumed the construction work at the back had changed the ambience and forced A&M to leave....?
If so, has this affected the feel of the place now?

Do let us all know!..

My wife and I tried C'an Daniel at the recommendation of one of the waiters at Hotel Niu.

Let's just say it was an experience and we wouldn't be returning any time soon.

Biggest question for me would be have they got rid of the rats
We had a couple of good meals in the old balaxia but on our last visit spotted rats in the trees right above us and before anyone asks of they were squirrels they were definitely rats
Never went back

General comments about eating out in Mallorca are (1) too expensive, even if the £/euro rate was nearer to 1.50 than 1.00, with very few exceptions, (2) service definitely worse in the busier resorts (and I include PP as a busier resort), (3) quality of food leaves a lot to be desired.

Ref: C'an Daniel. Rats still there. Entrecot steak was really diabolical. Huge, but half of it was inedible because of gristle, ligament, being totally raw. We inadvertently ordered a brocheta too, which was as hard as could be and also totally inedible. We felt rather sorry for the people there, as it would appear to be a case of downward spiral, which inevitably leads to ordering dodgy ingedients to cut costs and a lack of upkeep/improvements. The pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months.

In a 20 -30 minute conversation with the waiter (in Spanish) I offered some advice about (a) offering more meats as brochetas (after all, how many people really want a 28 oz steak or half a chicken?), as most Europeans would go for that and the meat should be quicker and easier to cook well, (b) using better quality meat but less of it. Profit margins would be just as good and people might return/recommend, but I reckon it fell on deaf ears.

Thanks, bonviveur. I was really hoping for someone to review Ca'n Daniel and sorry it was a bad experience.
