I've also had good feedback about this new(ish) restaurant - my other half is out in PP right now to sort out some stuff and he had a meal there last night - think he felt a bit of a Nigel No-Mates because he was the sole and solitary diner... admittedly it was a chilly Thursday night in January. Anyway, he had what he describes as an 'enormous and excellent' hot and sour soup, 'very succulent' squid in black bean sauce, rice and a 'lovely' aubergine dish. Great meal, and very friendly staff - but with a couple of drinks the bill was 30 euros... Think when we are all out in April we will definitely be opting for the menu del dia, which sounds great - as we will be doing pretty much everywhere this year. This problem isn't confined to Pollensa of course - hubby was talking to someone on the plane who had just been skiing and they said that 20 euros for a pizza and a small beer in a very ordinary restaurant was pretty much the average...

Hi there Sparky,

Thanks,

Looking forward to a review on La Villa cos we went there the night it opened last July.Pretty good as I recall. Somebody told me that they owned a chinese restaurant in Alculdia which has a good reputation but not sure.

Seems to have strange opening hours cos a few weeks ago they were open some lunchtimes but closed evenings. Also unusual name for a chinese restaurant , aren't they usually " The Golden Phoenix"/ "Dragon House"/ "Lucky House" etc etc ???

Dem fires out yet??

Hola Bonyslad, yes they do have another place in Alcudia it's opposite the Nautical Club in Carretera de Arta which is closed on tuesdays and the PP one is closed on mondays. Agree with you about the name, it is strange for a chinese. BTW dem fires are well and truly out, all is peaceful again.

If La Villa PP is as good as La Vila P de Alcudia then its a going to to be a good addition to PP restaurants.

We first went to La V Alcudia many (15?) years ago before discovering PP and used to make a special visit to it when in PP. However have not gone for the last few years as the choice in PP is excellent.

I suppose it will all come down to price at the moment with Menu del Dai featuring heavilly in our plans.

Went there on Sunday, Table of 6, there was only one other table occupied and a couple of people at the bar.

We had vairous individual starters (love those curry triangles), 2nd course of 1/2 a duck followed by mains including singapore noodles & kung po chicken.

All very nice apart from slightly stale prawn crackers, great service and with water & 3 bottles of wine the bill came to 157euros.

They are also open for lunch, menu del dias is 7.95euro for a starter & main from a selection.

Many thanks for the recomendations of this restaurant, as this is by far the best chinese restaurant in PP.

Curry triangles and prawn won tons for starters, sweet and sour pork, beef with mushrooms, singapore noodles and special fried rice. With two bottles of wine and licquers about 55 euros i think !!

All served by a very nice Irish girl, Sarah, who is a post graduate from Galway.

Enjoyed a few drinks at the bar following the meal watching the Liverpool/Real Madrid match and enjoyed the banter with the locals. Couldnt understand them getting so upset at the drubbing they received as there was more spanish players in the Liverpool side!!
