Default 13 nights in PP

Meal 1 – Monday July 21

Our first port of call was OLume, read so much about it on the forum, decided to go straight there, Susie, my wife & I both had the MDD at 22 Euro inc wine/ water & coffee. James our son aged 9 had fish, Grace & Lily our twin daughters aged 6 had chicken.

We arrived and only 2 tables were occupied, one by a group of 5 or 6, the other by a single chap, another party arrived whilst we ate; we chose to sit in the garden area.

The adults were brought an appetizer of a potato type salad, the children fish croquets.

Our first course was fresh spaghetti with pancetta & parsley, it was divine, the children though so too!!

For main I had grilled salmon with vegetables & potatoes, which was fine, Susie had pork which she enjoyed.

For desert Susie & I had ice cream, which we shared with the children.

I then introduced myself to Jamie and said I had read so much about the restaurant on the forum, he said this year seemed much busier which he credited to the forum.

Jamie then brought out what I believe were home made chocolates which were delicious, then Susie & I had a complimentary liqueur and he brought out more chocolates for the children.

We declined the coffee as the children were getting restless.

The total bill including soft drinks for the children came to 74 Euro.

Meal 2 – Tuesday July 22

We ventured to Pollenca to Piccalo Forno after reading the glowing report by Bonyslad, we managed to get an outside table, Susie & I had a beer, the children lemonade/ coke whilst we browsed the menu.

I ordered the Piccolo Forno pizza, overloaded with Serrano ham, rocket & parmesan, fresh tomato/ oregano, it was excellent, Susie had a bolognaise pizza, which she said was fine, James had his favourite pizza, Americana, which he loved, Grace spaghetti bolognaise and Lily ham pizza.

With water the bill came to 52 Euro.

Meal 3 – Wednesday July 23

We visited El Posito, I had not booked a table but they were able to accommodate us, Susie & I had a beer, the children the usual coke etc whilst we looked at the menu, we decided on not having a starter despite repeated requests from the waiter, Susie ordered the leg of lamb with rosemary, I ordered the suckling pig, James had sea bass, Lily had beef, Grace had chicken nuggets, we also ordered a bottle of white.
Susie said the lamb was delicious, just fell off the bone, my suckling pig was good, although the crackling could have been crisper, James enjoyed his sea bass, Lily’s beef was too rare, in hindsight I should have sent it back, but she ate it, Grace was happy with her nuggets.

What struck me about our evening was being rushed by our waiter and the food coming extremely quickly as though we had not ordered sufficient and he wanted us out of the way in case more customers arrived, although by the time we left the restaurant although busy was not full,on the positive side he was delightful with the children, they sat around the bar whilst Serrano ham was sliced & they were all given a piece, they were also given a complimentary ice cream and Susie & I a liqueur.

The bill came to 88 Euro.

Ca n’ Andreu & Can Ferra & more to follow!!!
