Question ...bars in PP

We will be coming to PP in a couple of weeks, and wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for a good bar for some post meal drinks in the evening....is the Orange Bar still at the Daina, or Batucada, which I think was near Restaurante Nasciente?..if that's still there..

Hi

It depends on what you are looking for. (And maybe where you are staying)

If you want to people watch and see the fun on the square the you cannot beat Bony Bar, although prices seem to have gone up quite a bit!! especially felt with the current exchange rates. 3.90 Euros a pint!!

The Irish bars offer the more traditional "English" type of place but tends to be more expensive for well known beers. I think I was charged about 4.75 Euros last time I visited!!

Bar cultural is the "locals" bar with old men (sorry) playing dominoes etc. I think they discount prices for locals but even at tourist rates are cheaper.

JK's bar on the Formentor Road is a nice modern Sports type bar "just" 3 euros a pint. Offers large screen sports, curry nights, wifi access and a pleasant welcome.

Bar Imperial on the seafront opposite the carpark has Carlos and the famous Toni waiting on, See him swinging from the rafters on utube!! and provides singers, Elvis, Nicki, et al on various days, 3.50 a pint.

Dont know the name but up past the Burger King is the Kebab place where you can get a pint for 2.40Euros!!!

The Golden Lion, Panorama Beach opposite the Pollensa Park Are good. Both offer music on different nights. Sunday is good with John Lynam playing guitar at the Panorama. He plays other venues suc as the Hideaway in Gotmar (Thursdays I think) and others.
Sergio was very entertaining at the Golden Lion.

El Ankla up towards the Romantic also gets good music. The owner is very welcoming.

Although I have not visited The Rosa Blanca and Aries bar at the Habitat roundabout have good reputations.

Hope this helps, I have not mentioned all the excellent restaurants along the Pine Walk who have tables set aside for drinks.

Hi Guys,

I'm curious, are most bars indoors or is there street bars as well? Looking at some restaurant pics, theres a lot indoors.

I would say most of the bars catering for holidaymakers are outdoors - in the Bar Cultural, there are locals who sit inside and if you venture in to go to the loo, you can sometimes see a Bull-fight being shown on the TV.

I don't think I've ever sat outside at a bar in PP or Pollensa. There are some bars in the old town that seem to cater just for locals. Hubby always wants to go in one and they tend not to have outside tables.

Having said that of course, the Bar Espanyol is a wonderful place to watch the older generation of Pollensa gather in the evenings to take a coffee. There's always a group of older men sitting on the chairs on the pavement just outside the bar.
