Andy asked about drink driving laws in Spain so I had a look and this is what I came up with:
Spain has strict drink driving laws, only allowing 0.5 milligrams of alcohol per millilitre of blood - stricter than the UK where the limit is 0.8. New drivers are effectively forbidden to drink and drive, with a very low 0.1 mg/l limit.
I get to do most of the driving on holiday
and although we sometimes have a bottle of wine with our meal, we take it home with us and finish it off sitting on the terrace.
I agree, though, the measures in Spanish bars can be huge! Bony's Bar in particular serves large measures and two of their gin and tonics, plus half a bottle of wine over dinner and a freebie liqueur would send you way over the limit! In the UK as well as Spain!
