I had 4 decent length visits this year so had a look at one or two restaurants I had read about on here but never tried before. The 5 I'm going with are:
1/ La Lonja - it's first class in every respect.
2/ El Posito - going here was a new experience for me this year and it is fantastic. Good food, properly prepared and served with more than a touch of eccentricity!
3/ Stay - I've read the above comments about it but for me all I can say is that I've never had a bad meal there.
4/ Stefanos - a bit under the radar due to its location. Ate there 4 times this year and it was excellent every time.
5/ C'an Ferrar - not exactly haute cuisine but unbelievable value and great fun.
C'an Curassa also found a lot of favour and nearly made it onto the list. At various times I and those around me enjoyed the Mirador de La Victoria (especially for lunch) and Il Giardino but neither of those restaurants are in the Port so they did not make the cut!

Had another lovely week in PP in September - enjoyed it so much that we have already booked 3 weeks for next year . We ate in so many nice places its proving difficult to come up with a top 5, so here goes; our favourite restaurants for 2014 are as follows;
1) Stay
2) Hotel Llenaire
3) Osteria No15
4) Maxims
5) Centric.
All top notch for food, wine and atmosphere. Until next year

Here are our votes:
1. O Lume (sad to see it go - hope Jaime finds new premises asap)
2. La Llonja (lovely food, great views and ambience)
3. El Posito (back to its best - fantastic MDD)
4. Stay (not the best food but a beautiful place to spend an evening)
5. Brisa Marina (great fish - an old favourite)

Been thinking about this a lot, its very difficult to decide on the top 5 as nearly everywhere we have gone this year has been excellent, I suppose that is the benefit of going frequently, we know where to go and where not to go.
Anyway, top five
1. Casa Vila, great food, fantastic service and open nearly all the year round, what more could you ask, we have been 5-6 times this year and it has become our favourite meet up place to eat with friends.
2. Centric, again the same as above, and with veggie MDD, wish it was open all year round.
3. La Cabana, must have been 6 or 7 times this year, once again the best tapas in the port and such great service, some of the best around food in the port too and the place we go to when we can’t decide where else to go
4. Osteria 15, once again great food and such a warm welcome, again another great meet up place for friends, I think we ate 4 maybe 5 time in all, Fantastic food and open most of the year now, we ate inside when it was very cold in January when we are the Sparks were the only ones in there, and in the heatwave in September when we sat outside and slowly melted. Great place
5. Manudca, and finally once again, fantastic food and open every day of the year, very friendly welcome and great pizzas

Thought twice about voting this year as it's so difficult to decide on a best place when all my favourites are great, but here goes:
1) La Llonja.. Best MDD. Lovely food and setting, and great service.
2) Centric..Great fusion style food. Perfect hosts
Casa Vila...fantastic all year rounder. Great value lunchtime MDD.
4) Stay (dropped down the ranking as the MDD is on a loop and IMO needs some
new dishes. Having said that it is always a treat to go there and the service
is superb and friendly, and the MDD is such good value.
5) Los Zarzales..always lovely and Yolanda and Cristian work so hard to make
it a memorable occasion. Great fun on their Flamenco nights.
