Default Great new restaurant in Port Alcudia

I am not sure whether this post is in the right place, but anyway-

There is a great new restaurant in Port Alcudia. It is called "Posidonia" and is located on the main road out of the Port (from PP end) towards Alcanada opposite the boat yard where the boats are out of the water. It is a few doors away from a restaurant which has a suit of armour outside.

It opened last October and stayed open throughout the winter. The decor is lovely and the food is very good indeed. We have now been there 3 times and I have had the same dish three times because is was so good - Sole and Salmon in a champagne sauce which is delicious, well balanced and slightly tart to overcome being too rich. Mrs AK has tried a number of dishes and was equally impressed.

From my humble perspective it is now the best food in the Port.

I have been there for a couple of times for Lunch. They do MDD for 11.95 which includes bread and ali oli, drink (wine ,soft drink or beer) and water plus a choice of 3 courses. Very good food, lovely service and a good price.

Our favorite restaurant in Alcudia Port for the past 25 years is Lovento next door to the one you mention it serves the best fish on the Island & has been in the same family for Donkeys.
It is always full of locals.
there my secret is out.

Thanks for that ak. Sometimes we forget about the run of good restaurants along that stretch.
Cumberland - reading with sleepy brain I scanned your post and read "its always full of Donkeys" !! That jump started my brain and I'm wide awake now!

Love that reply Bella ,but I am fairly sure donkeys don't eat fish.
There is a saying about the big fishermen who bring the catch in & donkeys but it eludes me for the moment.

Ah, but who are we to know what goes on when the stable doors are closed!
You could of course be thinking of the famous Amberjack: Also known as Wreck Donkeys, or Reef Donkeys, Amberjack can be found scuttling around wrecks or structures lodged in the Gulf Stream, such as the Diamond Shoals Light Tower located 15 miles offshore. For anglers who want a challenge, an Amberjack can put up a good fight, and has been known to break many lines of the big fishermen who bring the fish in.

But there again .. maybe not!

Have you tried the sole in champagne sauce? It is light and delicious. One other advantage of this place is that is open all year.
